A Bit About Me
Dr Rewena Keegan is our Breast Specialist and provides the highest quality care for our patients. Dr Keegan is available to reduce waiting times for consultations, whether it be for opinion and management of breast conditions or a newly diagnosed condition requiring surgical or oncological management.
Dr Keegan was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honors from the University of Sydney in 2007 following completion of a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology and Physics.
She completed her internship and residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then completed her advanced general surgical training over 5 years through the RPA network including training at RPA, Canterbury, Westmead, Canberra and Tweed Heads Hospitals. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in general surgery (FRACS) in 2015 and was awarded the prestigious Noel Newton medal for top trainee research presentation at the annual scientific congress.
Dr Keegan was then appointed as surgical superintendent of RPA managing the education and training of all general surgical registrars and junior doctors and worked closely with the department of breast surgery continuing her training during this time.
Dr Keegan then completed a further two years of training in breast surgery undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Breast surgery at Sydney University whilst raising her young twin boys and is also undertaking a second fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine, having recently completed the rigorous International board certification and is now a qualified Lifestyle medicine physician.
Dr Keegan has a keen interest in both the surgical and medical management of benign and malignant breast disease and is passionate about providing holistic medical care to her patients. Her training in nutrition and lifestyle medicine allow her to work with patients to prevent and optimise their breast disease and their general wellbeing.
In her spare time Dr Keegan is a whole food plant based fitness enthusiast and enjoys life in the Northern beaches with her six year old twin boys, and is passionate about her ongoing education and training in women’s health and wellness. She runs Revital Wellbeing Medicine.
